Of the many amazing lakefront neighborhoods in Lake Wylie, Heron Cove may be one of our favorites. The location is great, the schools are excellent, and you can’t beat the lake views. To get to Heron Cove, take Highway 49 across the Buster Boyd Bridge, the neighborhood is just across the bridge and to the right. This means that residents are near shopping, restaurants, and community events. The neighborhood is zoned for Clover schools, one of the best in South Carolina, but you get the advantage of lower South Carolina taxes.
As you enter the community you will see the amenities including Waterfront Park. This park has swimming, and fishing. There is a storage rack for resident’s canoes, picnic and barbecue grills and a fire pit. There is a playground for the kids as well as Heron Park Swim Club and walking trails throughout the community. There is also dry-boat storage for residents.
Lots in Heron Cove are large, coming in mostly over an acre with old growth trees on a quiet peninsula on the lake. Homes were custom built, and tend to average 4,000 square feet and are packed with features. Many homes have coffered ceilings, hardwood flooring, gourmet kitchens, spa-like bathrooms, bonus rooms and some even have basements.
Currently there are 5 homes on the market in Heron Cove representing 10 months of inventory. The rest of Lake Wylie has just a 4.5 month supply of homes so buyers may have the upper hand in negotiations.
