Neighborhood Spotlight: Beckett Cove

Near Lake Wylie, on the Charlotte side, you’ll find a cute newer construction neighborhood called Beckett Cove. This great spot has stylish homes built within the last 3 years so they show just like brand new. The neighborhood is close to everything you need, and is an easy commute to Uptown Charlotte. There are many different natural areas nearby to explore as well.

To find Beckett Cove, travel south on Tryon Street until Youngblood Road. Take a left on Youngblood, then take a left on Zoar Road. The neighborhood will be on your right. From Beckett Cove it is a quick drive to get groceries, see a movie, or head out to dinner. Local schools are less than two miles away in Palisades Park. There is also nearby highway access to I-77 at Gold Hill Road.

Homes in Beckett Cove have open concepts with flexible spaces. They are the perfect size for any family, with options to change as you grow. There are great storage solutions, chef’s kitchens, private primary suites, and much more. There were 10 original floor-plans with 3-5 bedrooms, 2-4.5 bathrooms, 2-3 car garages and 1,806 to 3,078 square feet of living space.

Because Beckett Cove is newer construction, there are not typically many homes that come up for sale yet. In the last year, just 5 homes changed owners. They sold for between $450,000 and $550,000 depending on size and features. There is currently only one home listed for sale and it went under contract after just 3 days on the market. This shows the high demand when one of these homes becomes available.

Neighborhood Spotlight: McKee Ridge

Adjacent to Palisades Country Club is a great small neighborhood called McKee Ridge. This perfectly situated spot is close to Ballantyne and Uptown Charlotte, Steele Creek and Lake Wylie. One unique feature of this neighborhood is that right now homeowners save because they pay lower county-only taxes.

To find McKee Ridge, come towards Lake Wylie on Youngblood Road, and the neighborhood will be on your left before you get to Palisades Country Club. This location is close to Arrowood Station so you can park your car and ride the light rail into Uptown Charlotte. Rivergate is nearby for shopping, dining, and entertainment options.

Knotts Builders, local to the Charlotte area, were the developers on McKee Ridge. Their other projects have included Brookline and Hawk Haven. The homes they built have between 2,300 to 4,050 square feet with 4 or 5 bedrooms, and between 2.5 and 4.5 bathrooms. Many of these homes have home offices, guest suites, sumptuous primary suites, gourmet kitchens, and all of the extras.

In the past year, just three homes sold in McKee Ridge showing that owners just aren’t ready to leave these beauties. There are currently no homes on the market in the neighborhood, and it should continue to be popular due to the new Palisades High School that just opened. Last year the homes that did sell went for between the mid $400,000’s to the High $500,000’s depending on size and features. If you want to be a part of this community, you have to act quickly as all of the homes that sold last year were under contract in 4 days or less. Neighborhood Spotlight: The Palisades Lake Wylie

If you are looking for a neighborhood that isn’t cookie cutter, you want to check out The Palisades. This community is a collection of smaller neighborhoods built by many different builders. There are many different price points, floor plans, and styles so there is a perfect home for just about every size family here.

The Palisades is located on the North Carolina side of Lake Wylie. There are many options nearby for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Rivergate is nearby as well with many more options.

Within the neighborhood, there are amazing amenities. You will feel like you live in a resort with a clubhouse, equestrian facilities, equestrian trails, fitness center, golf course, playground, pool, recreation area, security, sidewalks, street lights, tennis courts, and walking trails. The Palisades Country Club is in the neighborhood as well with opportunities for residents to join for a fee.

The neighborhood is so large, in fact, that there is an elementary school within the borders. Palisades Park Elementary is the school for many of the children who live in and around the community. There are also many private school options, as well as daycare centers close by for younger children.

Homes in The Palisades range from 4 bedroom 3 bathroom with just over 2,500 square feet all the way to 6 bedroom, 5 full bath, 3 half-bath with over 7,000 square feet. This diversity in homes leads to a diversity of prices as well. Smaller homes start in the mid-$400,000’s while the larger homes sell for upwards of $1.5 million. In the past year, 130 homes sold in the neighborhood and there are currently 26 homes for sale with another one coming soon. Some of these listings are for new construction homes so there is still an opportunity to be an original owner.

Neighborhood Spotlight: Riverpointe LakeWylie

If you are worried about commute time to Uptown Charlotte from the South Carolina side of Lake Wylie, there are some great options for neighborhoods on the North Carolina side of the lake. One of these is Riverpointe. This amazing neighborhood has two landscaped entrances that lead you through rolling hills with stately custom homes and expansive views of Lake Wylie.

Riverpointe is located just to the east of the Buster Boyd Bridge. This great location is perfect for joining in community events in Lake Wylie, and is also close to shopping, dining, and entertainment in Rivergate. Just past Rivergate, you can connect to highway access on I-485 or I-77 connecting you with all points around Charlotte.

Homes in Riverpointe were built between 1989 and 2023 by a variety of custom builders. The almost 200 homes have large lots, and plenty of square footage for home offices, open floor plans, gourmet kitchens, and much more. Many of these homes have been updated, added on to, or completely refreshed inside and outside since they were built. Most have full brick or stucco exteriors, 2 or 3 car garages, soaring ceilings, extensive trim work, custom closets, sunrooms, decks and terracing.

Community amenities include an outdoor pool, club house, tennis courts, playground, and gazebo. There is community lake access as well. Most streets end in cul-de-sacs and are not through streets so you will see children playing, residents walking, biking, skating, or exercising their dogs.

In the past year, seven homes and two lots sold in Riverpointe. The interior lot sold for $80,000 while the waterfront lot sold for $340,000. You see the same divide among the homes. Interior homes sold for between $550,000 and $695,000. Waterfront homes sold for between $1,200,000 and $1,280,000. There are currently three listings in the neighborhood and all are interior lots. Two of the three are over 5,000 square feet so are listed for more than $900,000. The other is slightly smaller and is listed for $775,000.

Neighborhood Spotlight: Crescent Land and Timber Lake Wylie

If you are interested in a waterfront home on Lake Wylie with few to no neighbors, check out Crescent Land and Timber. This amazing neighborhood has no homeowners association so you won’t have to pay any fees. Many of these home sit on large lots with close to ½ to 5 acres of wooded property. Crescent Land and Timber is right next to McDowell Nature Preserve so you are not going to get any new neighbors.

Crescent Land and Timber is located just off Shopton Road 9 minutes away from shopping at Rivergate including groceries, restaurants, and personal services. Highway access is convenient for a morning commute, and public lake access is nearby as well. Many of these homes have private lake access with docks, piers, or boat houses.

Homes in Crescent Land and Timber have many different styles of architecture. They were custom built to work with the landscape to take advantage of the lake views. Some of them even have multiple levels so you have views from every room. Homes were built between 1949 and 2014. Inside you will find features such as geothermal heating and cooling, gourmet kitchens, whole house generators, walls of windows and sliding glass doors and much, much more.

In the past year, just one home changed owners in this desirable community. Since 2018, one lot and four homes have been sold. Currently there is one home on the market in Crescent Land and Timber. This waterfront home has over 4,000 square feet of living space on a 0.78 acre lot with mature trees and landscaping. List price is $1.45 million. If you want more privacy than a large neighborhood provides, you might want to check out an intimate neighborhood instead. Harper’s Point on the North Carolina side of Lake Wylie could be the community you are searching for. Comprising just 21 basement style homesites, Harper’s Point is secluded, yet still connected to the wider community.

Harpers Point is located in a private cul-de-sac just off Bankhead Road close to downtown Fort Mill, South Carolina. Steele Creek is nearby as well for plenty of options for shopping, dining, and entertainment.

Built by Taylor Morrison Homes within the last 6 years, Harpers Point homes have all of the modern features you expect. Neighborhood Spotlight: Chateau

The work Chateau evokes visions of elegance and that’s just what you will find in the Chateau neighborhood in the Steele Creek area near the shores of Lake Wylie. Builder Lennar Homes if offering two distinct single family home collections as well as townhomes. Homes have moderate price points, and are conveniently located near shopping, dining, and highway access.

Located off Smith Road, Chateau is walking distance to River Gate Elementary school. This family friendly neighborhood features resort style amenities including a clubhouse, swimming pool with splash zone for smaller children. There are tennis courts, and sidewalks connecting to walking trails perfect for a morning run, dog walk, or bike ride. There is also a playground and neighborhood events throughout the year to foster the community.

Homes in Chateau are divided between the Traditions and Enclave sections. These homes have open concept floor plans, sumptuous primary suits, and second floor laundry facilities. They range from 2,205 to 4,734 square feet with 4 to 6 bedrooms and 2.5 to 5.5 bathrooms. There are 13 plans to choose from, but they can be customized to make them work perfectly for your family.

In the past year, seven townhomes sold in Chateau for a range between $339,999 and $436,759. Thirty nine detached single-family homes sold for a range between $387,000 and $615,000.
