Neighborhood Spotlight: McLean Overlake

Another expansion of McLean is underway in Belmont on the North Carolina side of Lake Wylie. This amazing master planned community is offering traditional single-family homes priced from the low $300’s from three different builders: Evans Coghill Homes, Empire Communities, and Tri Pointe Homes. McLean Overlake is located just across South New Hope Road from Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. This great location is close to restaurants and public boat ramps in Lake Wylie, and also close to shopping and more services just across the Buster Boyd Bridge. First Phase of Chronicle Mill Belmont Available this Fall

In an area that got a lot of its wealth from Textile Mills, it is no surprise that those mills are now mostly being remodeled for new uses. Another great example of this is Chronicle Mill in Belmont. This project is currently being developed by John and Jennifer Church of Centra Properties in partnership with Armada Hoffler. They are lovingly restoring the mill which operated for over a century.

Chronicle Mill is located right on Catawba Street in the heart of Belmont. Residents will be able to walk to everything they need including community events, restaurants, breweries, entertainment, parks and much more. There is nearby highway access which will connect you quickly to Charlotte Douglas International Airport, or into Uptown Charlotte for a commute or just a visit.

When fully finished, the repurposed mill will have 240 apartments and 20,000 square feet of commercial space in the original mill building and a new construction section. Apartments will include studio, one-, and two-bedroom plans. Amenities will include a park, sunken garden, and open green space. Pre-leasing is expected to begin this summer with the first units available for occupation in the fall.

Neighborhood Spotlight: Catawba Heights Belmont NC January 2022

If you want to be near the lake, but not on the lake, consider Catawba Heights in Belmont, North Carolina. This community is close to Lake Wylie, but has so much more than just the lake. For instance, Belmont Abbey College, the US National Whitewater Center, a quaint downtown with shopping, dining, and community events, and the Catawba River within walking distance. Catawba Heights is a great neighborhood to explore in the Belmont – Mt. Holly area, close to everything you need, and a quick commute to Uptown Charlotte.

Catawba Heights is located just North of Belmont Abbey College. It contains an eclectic mix of homes of all shapes and sizes so there is sure to be a home perfect for any family. These homes range from 672 to over 2,600 square feet of living space with 1-4 bedrooms and 1-3 bathrooms. Styles range from bungalow, to ranch, to split-level. Original homes in the neighborhood were built in the late 1940’s to the 1950’s. Additional homes were built in the 1960’s and 1970’s with a few homes built in the early 2000’s. This helps give the community unique character. Many of the homes have been remodeled since they were built, but retain one-of-a-kind features.

In the last year, fifteen homes changed owners in Catawba Heights. Prices ranged between $90,000 – $383,000 with an average sales price of just over $250,000. There are currently three homes and one lot for sale in the neighborhood with two of the three homes already under contract. The lot is three parcels all together for a total of 1.3 acres on a corner lot on Belmont-Mt. Holly Road.

If you are looking for a starter home, forever home, downsize home, or investment property in Belmont, North Carolina, Rustic Trails should be at the top of your list. This great neighborhood has amazing homes, a great location, no HOA, and is still affordable. Bring all offers for homes in one of Belmont’s best kept secrets.

Homes in Rustic Trails typically have 1,100 to 1,800+ square feet of living space with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Many of the homes have been updated since they were built, and some have additions or have been completely remodeled. However, there are opportunities to update homes yourself. Homes sit on large lots with many over an acre in size which gives plenty of room for outdoor living spaces as well as gardens. Homes were mostly built in the 1980’s giving them tons of character. Styles range from one story, to split-level, to two story. Some homes have outbuildings, detached garages, workshops, or RV parking.

Rustic Trails is located between the South Fork Catawba River and the Catawba River south of downtown Belmont. Access to the neighborhood is from South Point Road, with restaurants, grocery stores, parks, and entertainment all close by. There is highway access close by as well connecting residents to Uptown Charlotte and Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

In the past two years, just 5 homes sold in Rustic Trails for between $195,000 and $290,000 which makes it really affordable for many families. Neighborhood Spotlight: Adams Bluff

If you are looking for a sweet craftsman or bungalow style home in Belmont, North Carolina, look no further than Adams Bluff. Homes here are priced just right for a starter home or for downsizing. These vintage homes have unique charm and character and are located close to everything you need.

Adams Bluff is located on the east side of Belmont and is close to shopping, dining, and community events. There is plenty of green space close by with Kevin Loftin Riverfront Park, Ebb Gantt Park, and Crescent Park all within walking distance.

Homes in Adams Bluff were built between 1905 and 2001, though many have been remodeled since they were built. Most of the newer homes mimic the style of the older homes in keeping with the character of the neighborhood. Homes have between 2 and 3 bedrooms and 2 to 2.5 bathrooms.
