The Landing is located just North of Highway 49 near the Buster Boyd Bridge. There are many options nearby for shopping, dining, and community events. Just across that bridge, you will find many more options and larger stores for the rest of your shopping needs.

Amenities in The Landing include a clubhouse, pool, and neighborhood park. There are just about 2 miles of paved walking trails and sidewalks for walking, biking, or running. In The Landing, you will find estate style homes with large lots of at least half an acre. Homes have between 3,000 to over 6,000 square feet of living space. Heron Cove is located just across the Buster Boyd Bridge as you come in from Charlotte. This puts you in the perfect position for community events in Lake Wylie. There are great local options for shopping, dining, and entertainment. A little bit further away, you will find more options with larger stores and chains.

When you enter the community of Heron Cove, you will see the amenities including Waterfront Park. The park has swimming and fishing and gathering space for community events. There is a storage rack for resident canoes, picnic areas, barbecue grills, and a fire pit. There is a playground for the children in addition to the Heron Park Swim Club, and walking trails throughout the community. There is not a community boat launch, but there is dry-boat storage, and nearby public boat ramps if you don’t have water frontage with a dock.

Homes in Heron Cove are stately and most sit on property of at least an acre with old growth trees. All of the homes were custom built and average over 4,000 square feet of living space packed with custom features. May have gourmet kitchens, spa-like bathrooms, sumptuous primary suites, secondary or guest suites, home offices, and flex-spaces. Some of the homes have fully finished basements with media rooms, and exercise spaces.

In the past year, six homes and one lot sold in Heron Cove. The lot sold for $115,000, while the homes sold for between $725,000 and $940,000, depending on size and features. None of the homes was on the waterfront, so those homes could sell for substantially more.

Now that the plat review has been accepted, by a vote of 8 to 1, the next step of the project is to get the civil construction plan done. This will include a wetlands plan.  After that, utilities, roads, and sidewalks will be constructed. Once those are in place, homes will start to be erected.

The current plan calls for 34 homes on 46 acres. There are some easements for Duke Power that will take up 19 acres of the project. This means that 19 acres will not be developed so will be green space. The remaining 26.5 acres will have the homes and two new roads leading to a cul-de-sac. The community will share open space on the cove with direct access to the Lake, though not with a boat ramp. Residents will need to use public boat ramps or marina storage for watercraft. Lots should be around a half acre each. Home plans have not been drawn up yet, but could be large as the lots will accommodate larger homes.

Masons Crossing is located off of Lake Wylie Road in the Crowders Creek section of Lake Wylie. Highway 49 is very close so you can easily connect to the town of Lake Wylie for shopping, dining, and community events. Across the bridge, you have even more options in Rivergate. A Charlotte commute is pretty reasonable, but most of these homes have home offices so working from home is a pleasure.

Homes in Masons Crossing are grand in scale and sit on estate sized lots. All of the homes are custom built with amazing and unique features. Waterfront lots will command a premium when and if they ever come up for sale. The interior lots have amazing old growth trees and plenty of privacy making them a retreat. Riverpointe is located just to the east of the Buster Boyd Bridge. This great location is perfect for joining in community events in Lake Wylie, and is also close to shopping, dining, and entertainment in Rivergate. Just past Rivergate, you can connect to highway access on I-485 or I-77 connecting you with all points around Charlotte.

Homes in Riverpointe were built between 1989 and 2023 by a variety of custom builders. The almost 200 homes have large lots, and plenty of square footage for home offices, open floor plans, gourmet kitchens, and much more. Many of these homes have been updated, added on to, or completely refreshed inside and outside since they were built. Most have full brick or stucco exteriors, 2 or 3 car garages, soaring ceilings, extensive trim work, custom closets, sunrooms, decks and terracing.

Two of the three are over 5,000 square feet so are listed for more than $900,000. The other is slightly smaller and is listed for $775,000.

Crescent Land and Timber is located just off Shopton Road 9 minutes away from shopping at Rivergate including groceries, restaurants, and personal services. River Lake is tucked away from the main channel of Lake Wylie so it is not as busy. It is close to Catawba Park, Catawba Soccer Ground, and the Lake Wylie Dam with river access. Residents can easily access shopping and dining options, as well as get quickly to the highway for a commute or just a trip into the city.

The community has few amenities, but there are sidewalks, and the streets are lit. You can go into Fort Mill for any of the amenities you are lacking from not being in a large development, and with the money you save from not having a homeowner’s association, you can join anywhere else you like, or just save that money.

Homes in River Lake were built between 1996 and 2020 and are all brick custom homes. Many of the homes have great views of the lake from multiple rooms, and outdoor living spaces to enjoy the view.
