Participating restaurants prepare special three course prix fixe menus for $30, $35, $40, $45, or $50 per person, depending on the restaurant, not including taxes and gratuity. Reservations are recommended, and restaurants could provide last minute changes if they are out of an item. Please check with each restaurant in advance if you have specific dietary needs.

This year’s dates are July 21st – July 30th. Book your reservations now to ensure you get a table for the feast. Reservations need to be made separately with each restaurant. Coupons may or may not be accepted during the event, please ask to be sure.

We first told you about Drift in February of this year in this post. We detailed the two story space that will have a modern farmhouse style featuring craft beer and a selection of over 1,000 bottles of wine. The upstairs will be an event space available to reserve for private parties and corporate events.

Drift is brought to you by the owners of Pump House in Rock Hill and Napa at Kingsley in Fort Mill. This dinner with a view will be great for local residents, but will also be a draw for anyone in the Charlotte area with only a 30 minute drive to be back Uptown.

Drift will seat 280 people and has an indoor/outdoor dining experience due to glass walls that can be moved out of the way to take advantage of east-facing waterfront views. In inclement weather, you can watch a storm roll in through the glass wall, but be snug inside.

Drift is located in the McLean development close to Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. For directions, the address is 315 Lanyard Lane, Belmont, NC 28012. Initial hours will be M-Th 4pm-10pm, Fri-Sat 4pm-11pm, and 3pm-9pm on Sunday. As the restaurant is more established they may begin brunch on the weekends and start lunch service during the week.

T-Bones on the lake was a fixture of Lake Wylie for 24 years. Located on Highway 49 on the South Carolina side of the Buster Boyd Bridge, T-Bones was the perfect location for car riders as well as boaters. It served thousands of customers Western themed seafood, steaks and late night comfort food. This location has been a restaurant for almost 50 years so before T-Bones it was Hungry Fisherman.

The new Papa Doc’s Shore Club is being put together by Charlotte’s Bottle Cap Group. In Charlotte they have been behind restaurants Ink N Ivy, All American Pub, Slate Charlotte, Whiskey Warehouse, Jacks Corner Tap, Brazwells Premium Pub, Hot Taco, Rosemont and Oak Room. They also have locations in Greenville and Charleston, South Carolina.

Papa Doc’s Shore Club is expected to serve a modern American menu including seafood influences. Offerings will include oysters, lobster tails, and daily chef’s specialties. The bar will feature a tiki-themed cocktail menu. They plan to serve lunch and dinner each day, have a merchandise store, and have to-go service for boaters.

Expect Papa Doc’s to be a great gathering space for community events as well. T-Bones was known for charity work and community events and Papa Doc’s wants to fill that slot. Hopefully they will continue the annual Lake Wylie Children’s Charity fall benefit concert, Riversweep, and the Lights on the Lake holiday boat parade as well as many smaller events throughout the year. An opening date has not yet been set, but expect it sometime in 2019.

The much anticipated Sake Express Japanese steakhouse and Sushi just opened its fourth  location in Mill Creek Commons Center in Lake Wylie. This recent opening is the largest of the four locations that are currently open in Belmont, Mount Holly and Gastonia.

Totaling 4,900 square feet of cooking and dining pleasure, locals and visitors alike can take advantage of great Japanese food from 10 AM to 10:30 PM Monday through Saturday and from 11 AM to 9 PM on Sunday.  The menu features creative sushi rolls, bento boxes, Teppanyaki noodles, and so much more. The restaurant prides itself on great food and fantastic service, and it is a wonderful spot for families or a date night.

The official grand opening at 11 AM on November 4 will offer the opportunity for the first 100 customers to get a burrito per week for a year. A fundraiser will also be taking place on opening day titled “Pay What You Want Day” focused on raising money for local schools, and the school that raises the most money will receive an additional thousand dollars courtesy of Moe’s Southwest Grill.

Several commercial projects have been in the planning stages in the charming Carolina town, and at the Shoppes at the Landing, more construction is finally getting underway.

The largest tenant by far, occupying almost 87,000 square feet, will be Morningstar Mini-Storage. With plans to open in the fall, the building will be two to three stories tall and will include interior access to storage units averaging 100 square feet. This new Morningstar Lake Wylie location may also include boat or vehicle parking that would be covered or screened.Located at 574 Nautical Drive, Morningstar is taking up a large portion of the 52 acres that make up the Shoppes at the Landing.

There are also smaller tenants, though, that are also going to be major players, including Cunningham Waters, which will be 3,500 square feet initially and then followed by another 3,200 square feet at a later phase. Heartland Dental is going to begin construction on a 5,500 square-foot office building, and Wylie Commons is approximately 9,000 square feet. Lake Wylie Pediatric Dentistry, as well as Moe’s Southwest Grill, Sports Clips and TK Nails Spa and Waxing are also moving in.

Furthermore, 9Round Fitness Lake Wylie will also be coming soon and will offer a 30-minute kickboxing classes with plans to be open by July 25, just in time for all those anticipated summer workouts.

There is also talks of a restaurant moving in to the Shoppes as well, but details have yet to be confirmed.

The former site of Café 49 at 4516 Charlotte Highway will soon be the new location for this exciting pub opening. The site has been under construction for many months, with a focus on expanding the outdoor seating area so diners can maximize warm weather dining.

Copper Premium Pub is bringing the long awaited top notch pub experience to Lake Wylie. The focus of the establishment is on a family friendly environment aimed at serving great food and drinks “artfully crafted by hand” by a professional staff with service that cannot be beat. There will be 30 craft beers on tap and a fantastic food menu offering a fun casual dining experience for the whole family.
